Foot pains
Foot pain can be categorized according to their location as
toe pains, front foot pains or back-foot(heel and ankle) pains.
Toe pains: Corns, calluses, bunions, gouty arthritis are
examples.

Causes: ill-fitting shoes are perceived as the main cause.
Gout and arthritis are systemic in nature.

My supposition: We are playing roles in life that are well
below our potential, either because of inferiority complexes or dumbly playing
along with what people think about us. Otherwise who would like to wear shoes
that rub on us and produce corns and calluses? Kids who have an inferiority complex
make do with whatever is offered to them and not what they think they are
capable of and therefore wear the ill-fitting shoes their parents buy for them.
It is exactly the opposite of getting into shoes that is too big for the legs.
They get into shoes that are too small for them.

Treatment: Medical: Soak feet in warm water and gently
pumice the corns and calluses. Repeat as necessary. Medicinal ointments and
protective caps are also available.
Psychological treatment: Become assertive in nature and recognize
your own worth and don’t agree to play roles that are too small for a person of
your potential. Don’t let other people’s assessment of you mar your own outlook
about yourself. Insist on the right pair of shoes.

Front foot pains: stress fractures, calluses, neuromas etc.

This is suspected to be due to overuse of our feet. But
since it affects typically one foot we are left to wonder what the
psychological connection would be. If we were to suppose that we were
overexerting ourselves without allowing ourselves adequate leisure time, then
we suppose we can nail the culprit for such front foot pains which is our
'constantly being on our feet' lifestyle. Ideally, it should mean that we should
make time to put our feet up occasionally. And putting our feet up and resting
them is the ideal cure for such pains.

Back foot pains: heel fractures, plantar fasciitis, Achilles
tendonitis etc
Again this is a combination of factors like overuse or
incorrect use ie letting our heel take too much shock, without wearing proper
footwear with thick enough soles that absorbs all the shock. Meaning, we have driven
ourselves to believe that we are super-men and super-women, thus exerting ourselves
beyond the point of normal adaptation. The treatment would require us to slow
down to a large extent and give enough
rest to our feet and mind.

People with flat feet were forced to wear shoes, ill-fitting
ones , at a tender age when they were supposed to run around bare feet and
develop their foot arches. So they remain grounded all their lives and find it
difficult to let their minds fly high i.e. dream big. Yet, army surveys have
revealed people with high arches are more likely to have lower limb accidents
than flat-feet people. The reason may be because high-arched feet guys take
more risks than down to earth flat-feet ones who prefer to live more careful
lives.

AGAIN ALL THESE ARE MY INTERPRETATIONS AND HAVE ABSOLUTELY
NO DATA OR RESEARCH TO SUPPORT THEM. I do not claim any accuracy. You can think
of it as creative writing but even within creative writing symbolism is rampant.
So please make your own judgments and share your experiences with me so that we
may understand the link between psychology and physiological diseases better.
TRIVIA:
The foot is a complex structure of 26 bones and 33 joints
layered with an intertwining web of 126 muscles, ligaments, and nerves. The
average person spends four hours on their feet and takes between 8,000 and
10,000 steps each day.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR FEET, THEY DECIDE HOW FAR YOU WILL GO IN
LIFE.
